2015-2016 Graduate Academic Catalog

President's Welcome

President Joseph MooreDear Lesley University Graduate Students:

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 2015-2016 academic year at Lesley University. Whether you are beginning, continuing or completing your studies to earn a post-graduate certificate, master’s degree or doctoral degree, I hope this is a satisfying and productive academic year for you.

Each graduate program at Lesley University connects with its community of practice beyond the college campus. Our goal is to enable you to integrate theory and practice, and to do so in a way that meets your needs while celebrating the fact that learning is also a shared, not just an individual, experience. Obviously, graduate study requires significant individual effort, attention and time.  However, your learning will be enhanced through meaningful relationships with our faculty, with fellow students in your courses and program, and with the larger university community through the variety of events, speakers, and exhibits that take place throughout the academic year.

Lesley’s faculty design and deliver programs through face-to-face on-campus courses, low-residency programs, online programs, and hybrid programs that combine face-to-face and online. Through these different delivery models we seek to extend access to Lesley’s graduate programs to a diverse range of adults in greater Boston, throughout the Northeast, and across the country and the globe.

Lesley University’s mission is to provide a quality educational experience with lifelong value for each student.  The true civic impact of the university, however, is really felt in education, the arts, human service organizations, government, non-profit agencies, companies and communities throughout the country and around the world, where our 86,000 thoughtful and creative alumni are working and practicing their crafts and their professions.

I invite you to take advantage of all the benefits of a Lesley education over this coming academic year, and to share your knowledge and experience with your fellow students and Lesley faculty as well.  I hope that you will have a deep sense of satisfaction in your effort, experience, and development as an important member of this learning community throughout this academic year.

Very best wishes,

Moore Signature
