Office of Grants and Sponsored Projects

The Grants and Sponsored Projects Office assists faculty in identifying funding opportunities, developing grant capabilities, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.

The Grants and Sponsored Projects Office assists faculty in the following areas:

Pre-Award Services: accessing online resources to identify and research potential funders; assisting with the development of grant proposals and budgets; offering templates for grants and standard language describing the university; sharing examples of successful grants; conducting periodic workshops on writing successful proposals.

Post-Award Services: assist PI with reporting on awards to funders and University administrators.  Assisting budget and finance offices with managing awards; assisting budget and finance offices with submitting invoices; assisting budget offices with time and effort reports; assisting budget and finance offices with close out report.

Match academic priorities with opportunities for funding Support faculty engagement in sponsored initiatives Monitor compliance with funding regulations Spotlight faculty accomplishments in sponsored projects

Grants development is a recognized professional contribution which a faculty member’s department chair and dean can support and advise. Ideas for potential grant-funded projects should be discussed with the appropriate chair and/or dean.
