Massachusetts Educator License Renewal
Lesley University is a state-approved professional development provider, offering courses, seminars, institutes, workshops, and other activities that fulfill Massachusetts renewal requirements. A broad range of professional development activities are offered on weekends, weekdays, and evenings and are available on campus, off campus, and online.
Massachusetts teachers, administrators, and professional support personnel must apply to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for renewal every five years, as noted on their individual licenses. This requirement applies only to those who hold Professional licenses. To keep your license current, you must earn at least 15 Professional Development Points (PDPs) related to Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) and at least 15 PDPs related to training in strategies for effective schooling for students with disabilities and instruction of students with diverse learning styles. Remaining 105 PDPs may be earned through a combination of subject-related activities.
