CCRWT 3450 Advanced Writing Children's and Young Adult Literature

This is an advanced writing seminar focused on children's literature. Throughout the semester, we will review the elements of craft that underlie this area of fiction, as well as the genres that comprise the children's book and magazine market. Students will balance an intense reading load focused on universal themes, common approaches and the essentials of writing, with the preparation of two craft annotations, a comprehensive research paper and weekly class-room critiques of student manuscripts.
