Certificate in Postgraduate Studies in Creative Writing

The Certificate in Postgraduate Studies in Creative Writing offers the post-MFA student a way to continue to master their craft with individualized instruction and timelines to meet their artistic goals.

The Certificate in Postgraduate Studies in Creative Writing (PGC in CW) consists of two 6-credit creative writing courses that offer the post-MFA student one-on-one mentorship with Lesley MFA Faculty in one of two tracks:

Track A—in which post-MFA students deepen their genre work and bring works in that genre to completion, or further those works toward their ultimate audience.

Track B—to explore a new genre altogether. While work in a new genre will not equal the genre fluency of an MFA degree, we believe it can be fruitful to further work in one’s own genre, as well as add to the post-MFA writer’s teaching toolkit.

The Certificate in PGS in CW can be entered after completion of any MFA in Creative Writing Program.
