IFINE 2295 Large Scale Relief Print

Large Scale Relief is a printmaking course focusing on relief techniques at a larger scale. Students will learn the fundamentals of relief carving and printing, as well as experimenting with surface design, 3-D applications and installation. The course will culminate in a collaborative project wherein students will work on carving larger blocks that will be printed and displayed in a large-scale wall collage. In addition to experiential learning, students will participate in critiques, discussions and readings surrounding historical and contemporary relief printmaking. This is a hybrid course; the class integrates remote sessions and required in-person studio sessions. Students will develop work practices in a home/living environment with alternative modes and innovative working processes allowing for accessibility outside of a traditional print studio.
