CMATH 2990 Multivariable Calculus

Multivariable calculus is an extension of single-variable calculus (CMATH 1990 and 2590) that allows us to tackle more real-world problems by modeling them with functions of more than one variable. Topics include vectors in the coordinate plane and 3-dimensional space, polar and cylindrical coordinates, and multivariate functions.  Applications are drawn from a variety of disciplines, with a focus on the physics of objects moving in space, linear and quadratic approximations, and optimization.
