IILLU 3860 Visual Journalism
This course will address the research practices needed to successfully develop content for non-fiction Visual Narratives. The non-fiction genre encompasses a wide variety of audiences and can include historical, scientific, and biographical subjects. Throughout the semester written and visual research will become an essential part of the development of the studio practice from thumbnails to finished projects. Content development will focus on how to analyze, organize, and summarize information from a variety sources including books, articles, and databases. Students will use their research to develop short and long form sequential projects for print or digital platforms targeted to a specific audience or demographic.
