Business - Bachelor of Science (36 Credits)
(36 credits plus 6 credits of experiential learning)
Lesley’s business major allows students to learn the business acumen necessary in every profession through a blend of qualitative and quantitative perspectives. The core courses provide necessary business soft and hard skills, whether a student plans to open a proprietorship, join a partnership, seek employment in the corporate environment, or work as a sole contractor. These skills include leadership, teamwork, time management, marketing, promotion, pricing and branding, networking, customer service, tax implications, and strategic thinking and planning.
The Business Major requires four electives. Lesley’s electives allow the student to pursue their business career goals. The courses offered allow students to pursue corporate interests and interests in for-profit and not-for-profit small business endeavors.
The Business Major also requires two Internship experiences which allow the student an experiential opportunity where they can practice and hone their academic skills and learn the reality of the business career they aspire to. The student may choose one internship related to their business interest and a second internship unrelated to an alternative passion and its possibilities.
Though Business courses do not have any formal pre-requisites, students are strongly advised to begin this major with 1000- and 2000-level courses.
All business majors must achieve a grade of “C” or higher in all courses taken as part of the major.
A cumulative grade point average of 2.3 or better in the major is required to meet the requirements of the major.
