Masters of Education in Bilingual Special Education
This innovative masters’ program equips aspiring and practicing educators to work with bilingual learners with dis/abilities in inclusive settings. Participants will learn to differentiate language learning needs from dis/abilities and develop expertise in assessment, teaching, and learning for dually diagnosed bilingual learners, and collaborate with families and communities to provide equitable educational opportunities for all children, especially the most underserved student populations. This program provides preparation in both ESL and special education licenses. Coursework is designed to combine theoretical approach with practical applications to improve learning opportunities for bilingual learners with exceptional learning needs, who may have an individualized education program (IEP).
