Reading, Literacy Learning, and Language

The Lesley University reading, literacy learning, and language programs for educators focus on responding to the diverse literacy needs of K-12 students.  An emphasis is placed on the following: connecting reading and writing across the curriculum, connecting assessment and instruction to inform ongoing teaching and to guide students' learning, and meeting the needs of English language learners. Students in all programs develop the skills and competencies to design and deliver evidence-based literacy instruction. The power of narrative and informational literature to teach reading and to model writing across the disciplines is evident in all program options.
