Lesley’s Online Information Service (LOIS)

http://www.lesley.edu/lois/

LOIS is a secure online service designed to provide students with access to their Lesley University administrative and program information day and night via the web. LOIS provides current students and applicants access to a select set of inquiry functions.

Examples of LOIS services include:

Register for Sections: Search and register for campus based or online classes during the scheduled WebReg period listed on the academic calendars.

Class Schedule: Display schedule by semester or term, including dates, times, rooms, etc.

Personal and Academic Profile: Displays address information, advisor name and contact information, and program of study.

Grades: View grades and grade point average by semester.

Enrollment Agreement Info: Access the most recent enrollment agreement or to verify if you have already completed the form for the current academic year.

Transcripts: View an unofficial transcript online or request an official transcript to be sent to the recipient(s) of your choice.

Check Holds: Find out if you have a financial (student account, library, or parking) hold on your account before registering. My Documents: Find out what application materials the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices have received.

Financial Aid: View financial aid status and award letters.

Test Summary: Review scores for admissions and placement tests.

Declaration of Intent to Graduate: File application for graduation; update diploma name and mailing address.

Commencement RSVP: Notify the Commencement Office of participation in the May ceremony.

User Account: View user name or reset password.

Program Evaluation (Degree Audit): An automated evaluation tool that generates a report reflecting a student’s academic progress toward the completion of a degree. The report places the student’s course work within a series of requirements and sub-requirements for a specific degree program.

Current Course Information: Check the availability of courses by semester or term in “real-time” before registering. The feature displays the courses, room locations, faculty, availability, capacity, etc. for course sections matching the criteria chosen. No login required for this feature.

Important Note: LOIS Accounts are created on a rolling basis after receipt of an application or course registration. Students will receive notification including user name, temporary password and instructions for getting started. For help with LOIS, please call the LOIS support line at 617.349.8600 or 800.999.1959 x8600, or send an email to lois@lesley.edu.

Access Your Student’s Info: Link to the self-service Parent Portal (https://www.lesley.edu/registrar/parent-portal) where your parent(s) or guardian(s) may view your academic account information (if you choose to grant access). You may select the level of access you wish to provide in the “Parent/Guardian Access” section of the “Students” menu.

Address Changes

It is each student's responsibility to notify the Registrar's Office of any change of name or address, so we can reach each registered student.

  • Make address changes online: log on to myLesley, find the “Update Personal Information” section, and follow the link to the online form. Changes will not be displayed immediately, as updates are made manually by the Office of the University Registrar.

  • Address changes may also be made by email to registrar@lesley.edu, or in a letter, or on the Change of Name and Address form (https://www.lesley.edu/registrar/forms) and faxed to 617.349.8717, or by phone at 617.349.8740.

Name Changes

All name changes must be requested in a paper letter or on the Change of Name and Address form (https://lesley.edu/students/student-records-registration-schedules/forms). Email requests are not accepted. A name change request must be accompanied by legal documentation, such as a court order or marriage license. The name change will be reflected on the student record, and a reference to the former name will be maintained for search purposes only.

Note: Lesley University requires your legal name to be used on academic records and other official University documents.

Transcript Requests

Ordering an Official Academic Transcript

Students wishing to have copies of their Lesley University transcripts released to themselves or other parties may order official copies via the National Student Clearinghouse. Lesley University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide official academic transcripts via the Web. Visit the National Student Clearinghouse using this link (https://www.studentclearinghouse.org/secure_area/Transcript/login.asp?FICEcode=00216000).
You can order transcripts using any major credit or debit card. Your card will only be charged after your order has been completely processed. Order updates will be sent to you via email and, if you choose, text messages. You can also track your transcript order online.

Your signed consent is required to fulfill your transcript order. A consent form will be generated for your order that you can approve instantly online.

NOTE: Students with outstanding financial obligations will not be issued an official transcript. For questions regarding financial holds please email Lesley's Student Financial Services office at 617-349-8760 or sfs@lesley.edu.

Types of Transcripts Offered

Official transcripts are used for purposes such as admission to other educational institutions or for job applications. The transcript bears the signature of the University Registrar and the Lesley University seal. Electronic copies are delivered from Lesley directly to another school. Paper copies are issued in a sealed and unopened envelope on official transcript paper.

Requirements Completed Transcripts are used to prove you’ve completed your program before you receive your actual degree. A requirements completed transcript (RCT) is often used by teachers, who may receive a pay raise upon completion of their master’s degree requirements, or by undergraduate students applying for educator licensure. Before requesting an RCT, you must file a Declaration of Intent to Graduate on LOIS. For additional information, please see “Special Instructions for Ordering a Requirements Completed Transcript” at our transcript ordering page here: https://www.studentclearinghouse.org/secure_area/Transcript/login.asp?FICEcode=00216000.

Transcript Delivery Methods

We offer three delivery methods: emailed electronic PDF, electronic exchange, or mailed paper copy. You may also pick up your paper copy at our customer service window on the 3rd floor of University Hall. Please have a photo ID ready if picking up in person.

  • Electronic secure PDF - After your request is processed, your transcript recipient will be emailed a link to a secure Internet page where they can retrieve your official transcript. Upon that email notification, your credit card will be charged. The National Student Clearinghouse will guarantee that your recipient is notified that your transcript is ready for retrieval at the email address you provided when you placed the order; however, we cannot be responsible for whether or not your recipient retrieves or accepts the transcript. Because this is a new technology, we suggest that you contact your recipient and verify that they are willing to accept your transcript via this delivery method.
  • Electronic exchange is only available to be sent directly to another college or university within the electronic transcript exchange registry. The official transcript is sent to an electronic exchange mailbox. The recipients must check this mailbox in order to receive the transcript.
  • Mailed paper copies are sent USPS regular mail. Verify your recipients mailing address prior to completing your order.

Please Note:

  • Requests sent via the United States Postal Service may take an additional 5-7 business days to reach its destination. Lesley University assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of mailing information provided in your request, and cannot be responsible for any USPS delivery failure.
  • Please Note: Students who graduated from the Art Institute of Boston before 1990 and students of Lesley College that graduated prior to 1988 will need to choose mailed paper copies, as e-transcripts and electronic exchange transcripts are not available for this period.

Official Transcript Costs

The cost (subject to change) of a transcript varies for the delivery option.

  • $6.00 for an electronic PDF sent via email ($5.00 + $1.00 processing fee)
  • $5.00 for electronic exchange
  • $8.00 for a paper copy ($5.00 + $3.00 mailing fee)

Order Processing Time

Electronic PDF (emailed) and electronic exchange transcripts are typically sent the same day. If a PDF request includes other attachments, there may be an additional 1-2 day processing time for manual review of your order.

Paper transcripts are mailed or available for pick-up 2 to 3 business days after an order is completed [this includes the transcript request and verification of student information].

Course Descriptions Requests
Students needing copies of Lesley course descriptions must submit a written request to the Office of the University Registrar including the course number(s), title(s), and the semester/year the course(s) was taken. The course description fee is $5 (subject to change) per request; checks should be made payable to Lesley University. Please allow 3–5 business days, plus mailing time, for processing.
