CEDUC 3395 Literature For Children: Supporting Readers and Writers
In this course, students explore high-quality literature for children and develop pedagogical methods for using literature for equitable and inclusive reading and writing development. They practice methods for assessing and responding to students’ literacy needs, interests, and funds of knowledge through literature-based pedagogy aligned with the Massachusetts Literacy Frameworks. Students learn to critically select and evaluate literature, support students’ foundational literacy skills and strategies, foster critical literacy, and promote a lifelong love for learning.
